Joint Injections

Injection therapy can be offered for pain control in musculoskeletal disorders common in seniors such as arthritis pain, bursitis of the hip, knee or shoulders. We will provide an evaluation and treatment options which can include joint cortisone injections, joint aspirations, ordering pain modalities in PT/OT, other pharmacological options, specialist referrals or further imaging when needed.

Routine Physicals

Routine physicals are an important part of maintaining good health, especially for seniors. They can help identify potential health issues early on and allow for timely intervention. While the specific tests and procedures may vary depending on individual health needs these could include: medical history review, blood test, cancer screenings, vision and hearing tests, immunizations, urinalysis, and physical examinations.

Polypharmacy Reduction

Taking too many medications is a serious concern, especially for seniors. Routine review of medication lists during each patient visit or hospitalization is very important. Our providers will collaborate with the patient and facility to reduce pill burden and improve a patient’s ability to adhere to treatments along with assessment and monitoring of drug-to-drug interactions.

Cognitive Screening

Various screenings can be performed to assess functions in memory, thinking or judgement. Tests can involve answering simple questions and performing simple tasks. They are used to detect problems with mental function that may require further evaluation. Cognitive screenings are especially important for older adults who may have mild cognitive impairment, delirium, depression or dementia.
